The book of the Prophet Ezekiel Chapter 2

The book of the Prophet Ezekiel

Chapter 2

¹ He said to me: O mortal, stand up on your feet, and I will speak with you.

(The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel Chapter 2 verse 1)

Oh God my Father at times I am so tired that I can hardly stand up on my own two feet. If I did not have You as my crutch or means of support I do not know what I would do, how I would be able to live and cope with the onslaughts of life that I am tested by. I thank You for wanting me to stand up independently and not by means of relying on others. I thank You for being my strength in times of need and consolation as is the present time. I am ready to listen to You my God and Father. Amen.

² And when he spoke to me, a spirit entered into me and set me on my feet; and I heard him speaking to me.

(The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel Chapter 2 verse 2)

Oh God my father if it is not Your Spirit that gives us the motivation to communicate with our spirit we would never be open to You. You take over our senses and we become in a higher state of being that cannot be understood by the human mind. I pray for such experiences my God and Father, so that we could spend more time together in an intimate relationship. Amen

³ He said to me, Mortal, I am sending you to the people of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this very day. ⁴ The descendants are impudent and stubborn. I am sending you to them, and you shall say to them, "Thus says the Lord God."

(The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel Chapter 2 verse 3 to 4)

Oh God my Father, even though I am not a prophet as in the case of Ezekiel, even though I am a sinner among sinners, when You give me an opportunity to spread the message of the Good News I do not remain silent, for if I am silent I am not being a witness to others as You wish me to be. I thank You for this blog, my God and Father, for by means of it many people are being reached and if it is Your will by means of the messages that You give me every morning and evening these will be a means of helping others to come to make an experience of You in their lives and grow in their relationship with You as I am doing each day of my life Amen. Thank You, God for this opportunity.

⁵ Whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house), they shall know that there has been a prophet among them.

(The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel Chapter 2 verse 5)

Oh God something that has not changed in human nature is our attitude of rebellion towards You and even towards each other. To obey others and or to be subject to others goes against our nature. However, I pray that You help us to condition our sinful nature, so that it will transform into one that is loyal and subject to You Amen.

⁶ And you, O mortal, do not be afraid of them, and do not be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns surround you and you live among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words, and do not be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.

(The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel Chapter 2 verse 6)

Oh God my Father, I am sure that You are aware of the conditions I am in. I am truly living with scorpions who on the point of disagreement are ready to hit me with their deadly tails. I am exposed to harmful words, that are harming my self-esteem. There was a time when words did not matter, but now I have become so sensitive to them, that the least negative insult hits home. I pray for Your protection my God and Father Amen.

⁷ You shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear; for they are a rebellious house. ⁸ But you mortal, hear what I say to you, do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you. ⁹ I looked, and a hand was stretched out to me, and a written scroll was in it. ¹⁰ He spread it before me; it had writing on the front and on the back, and written on it were words of lamentation and mourning and woe.

(The Book of the Prophet Ezekiel Chapter 2 verse 6)

Oh God my Father, Your food is not like that of the world. The words found in the Bible are nourishment to my soul, even if at times it makes me aware of my sins and makes me feel guilty for my sins. During other times the messages that You pass on to me are very positive and empowering. I pray that You keep on feeding me of Your Holy Food Amen.

Oh God my beloved Father, I would like to end this second chapter of the book of the Prophet Ezekiel with the following prayer:-

Oh God my Father, I thank You for the relationship that You have with me. Every morning You feed me chapter after chapter of the Bible during these moments of prayer and reflection. I thank You for this heavenly food Amen.
